Prof. Xinping Yan

Wuhan University of Technology, China

(Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering)

Elected as a Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2019, Professor Yan Xinping currently holds a cluster of academic and administrative leadership positions at Wuhan University of Technology. He serves as the Director of the University Academic Committee, a postgraduate supervisor at both the Research Center for Intelligent Transportation Systems and the School of Transportation and Logistics Engineering. Meanwhile, he acts as the Director of the National Key Laboratory of Waterway Traffic Control, the International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Intelligent Shipping and Maritime Safety, and the Discipline Innovation Base for Intelligent Shipping and Maritime Safety. Beyond the university, he is the Chief Scientist of the National Engineering Research Center for Water Transport Safety and the Leader of the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Innovation Team in the Transportation Industry, undertaking pivotal academic and research leadership responsibilities in the national transportation field.

With a long-standing commitment to teaching and scientific research in the discipline of Transportation Engineering, Professor Yan has dedicated his academic career to the research on safety, intellectualization and green technology of transportation systems, with a focused and in-depth exploration of key directions in the maritime transportation sector. His core research scopes cover the monitoring and diagnosis of mechanical wear faults in marine equipment, the performance detection and evaluation of ship shafting systems, the development and control of new energy applications and energy efficiency optimization for ships, the perception technology and navigation management of in-service ships, the theoretical research and technical development of intelligent navigation and safety control, the construction of active safety systems for ship navigation, as well as the research and development of a new generation of low-carbon, green, intelligent and resilient shipping systems. These research efforts are highly aligned with the national development strategy of the maritime transportation industry, providing important theoretical and technical support for the high-quality development of China's shipping sector.

In terms of scientific research project management, Professor Yan has taken the lead in more than 20 national-level scientific research projects of great strategic significance, including the projects under the National 973 Program, the National 863 Program, the Key Projects, International Cooperation Projects and General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Key Research and Development Program, the High-tech Ship Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Science and Technology Special Projects of the Ministry of Transport. His research achievements have filled multiple technical gaps in the field of China's water transport safety and intelligent shipping.

Professor Yan has made remarkable academic outputs and research achievements. He has authored and published 5 academic monographs, and has published 139 academic papers in SCI-indexed journals, which have exerted extensive academic influence in the international transportation engineering field. In terms of scientific and technological awards, he has won one Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award and one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award respectively, as well as 5 First Prizes of provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards, fully demonstrating the high academic and technical level of his research results. In addition, he has obtained 32 authorized invention patents, converting academic research achievements into practical technological productivity and providing solid intellectual property support for the industrialization of technological innovations in the shipping industry.

Prof. Kai Sheng

Kai Sheng , Doctor of Engineering, Second Class Professor, Huashan Leading Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Xi'an Electronic Science and Technology University, National Leading Talent. He is currently a professor at Xidian Frontier Cross Research Institute, a professor at Xidian Guangzhou Research Institute, director of the Intelligent Connected Collaborative Driving Research Center at the Intelligent Transportation Research Institute, and deputy director of the Institute of Intelligent Computing (OMEGA). Mainly engaged in the research and development of vehicle road collaborative autonomous driving, information perception and intelligent systems.
